To anyone and everyone in the Jacksonville, Florida area! We’re looking to get a regular campaign started on Sunday, September 3rd, 2006 and are looking for three to five players to join regularly on every opposite Sunday (we’ll discuss when the next play date is before we depart, and you can always look here to find out when the next session will be so we can accommodate holidays and so forth).

Our core book has been out over a year, but we haven’t been pushing it due to “real life” obligations. Now we want to unleash it full force, and this is YOUR chance to play in a new game with one of the creators as your game master (don’t worry, I have to follow the rules in the book same as you). The game will be at Sanctuary Comics and Games and each session will run from 1:00pm to 5:00pm (or perhaps a little longer if nobody has anyplace else they’d rather be).
Are you ready to step up… or be left behind?

There’s something satisfying about a home town convention that isn’t too big, not too small, a gives people a chance to get together for fun and games. We didn’t push too much this year, just a simple two-part campaign to try a few things out and play a game we’ve built and love playing.
The best news is that the all-new “Opportunity Matrix” works very well. For those already playing, instead of permitting additional opportunities to “act” at the end of the round, the Opportunity Matrix cleverly arranges ALL possible opportunities so that faster characters have more opportunity to act per round FIRST. It also moves things along even faster because the opportunity is already scheduled based on Speed and waits only to see if it’s taken or not; quicker combats through better organized chaos.
Thanks again to everyone who came back this year (you know who you are).

The first day of GrailQuest 8 (yes, it has been around for eight years, its third at the World Golf Village) and our 2-day introductory adventure has gotten off to a great start! This is also doubling as out test play for this soon-to-be-released introductory adventure, a little something in the way of an example of where Game Masters can start and what may be expected from Players.
Already, our intrepid heroes are learning the difference between “time travel” and “alternate realities,” and that just because they have their mission doesn’t mean that someone else doesn’t have other ideas… more to come!
Oh, and we’ve introduced an added mechanic that replaces one of the more confusing bits in our combat system; today we find out if it really works for the better!

Isn’t it amazing how many of us choose not to use the latest technology when it’s free and plainly available? All kidding aside, Sanctuary Comics & Games now has a forum for both their in-store mayhem and for GrailQuest discussions.
Enjoy!

An indie game development site called “The Forge” is a place where both professional and amatuer game designers can talk about, argue, or peddle their game and others.
One of the things I recently came across was called “The Power 19,” nineteen really good questions about what a game is supposed to do, who it’s for, how it’s played, and a really good framework to showcase what’s different about it or different from others. Well, I’ve answered them for Kindling Moon on The Asylum, but I keep having to tweak ‘em because I’ve been getting plenty of calls to do so with expanded questions. Here’s that thread, too, if you’re interested.

It’s back! GrailQuest, Northeast Florida Premiere Game Convention, July 15th & 16th July 8th & 9th, 2006 at The World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Florida. Here’s our bit:
No Good Deed - In the Realm of Tulhara, Godfall was an ancient time and place when the Divinities fell and the time of Mortals began. But only the ashes of an apocalypse remain because a few individuals failed to preserve the future; see what you’ve done? (this is a two-part adventure played in two sessions; players should be prepared to play both sessions for the full experience; rules and characters provided)
Part 1: Session 2 (1pm - 4pm Sat, July 15th 8th)
Part 2: Session 6 (1pm - 4pm Sun, July 16th 9th)
We’ll be there… won’t you?
