All tangents lead to Tulhara, the First Realm.

Stranger in a Strange Land - In the Realm of Tulhara, many claim to be from someplace else. Those who do seem to remember a distant time, another place where they existed before they settled into a life here. Sentients new to Tulhara always begin someplace else, often a “personal paradise” where events seem to favor the sentient. Then the inevitable happens: the sentient finds they have been whisked away for reasons unknown.

The Kindling Moon - The deserts and a naturally thick haze promote the golden hue of the sunlit skies during the day; there is no one native to Tulhara that has ever seen a blue sky. At night, however, appears the surest sign a sentient is someplace new: a red moon rising opposite the setting sun, ringed with an inferno of white flame as though eclipsing a second sun. At its brightest, the moon gives the night a crimson aura. It then darkens throughout the monthly cycle until it becomes a black disk crossing the sky before “kindling” again into a bright red orb.

Godfall and the Divinities - Tulhara is a watcherless world; there are no gods commanding or punishing the people. The One Spirit, she who first escaped the Darkness to allow all spirits access to a mortal realm where memory exists and time passes, created the gods of old. These gods, called Divinities, were sent to replace the lies of the Idolaters who first raised graven images to take power for themselves. But power was also sought by the Divinities themselves, and they warred amongst themselves before drawing the breeds of the realm into the conflict. At a place now called Godfall, the Divinities were defeated and banished from the realm.

A Myriad Wish - Along with their shape-shifting servants, the Myriad, the Nameless Two banished the Divinities from Tulhara for all time, then departed to leave mortals to rule themselves and what remained of the of the realm. It is whispered that a Myriad can be seen carrying out an errand for their masters or suffering punishment for their insolence; a Myriad is always recognizable in any form by the horns that sprout from their heads and their ability to grant the wishes of others under duress.

Accursed Zansyra - There are many stories concerning the desolate land that exists dayward of the known realm. Some say the rising sun burned the land when it first emerged, while others whisper that the Divinities razed the land of life to empower themselves. Whatever remains there, it is an accursed land where no one goes and all manner of horror is attributed to. Sailors often say that the seas surrounding the land boil and that flame erupts at random from great open cracks everywhere, the worst possible environment imaginable. The land’s name, Zansyra, is a curse however spoken, whether directed at another or one’s own unpleasant misfortune.

Feared Mystics - While the omnipotent forces that the Divinities once commanded before Godfall have been reduced to mere charms and incantations, it is whispered that those with power like the Myriad but not bound to their masters are beginning to appear throughout the realm. Those gifted with the focus to harness such powers, called Mystics, can trigger such effects with only a thought. While their purpose is unknown, it is clear that with such power, how could each not think of becoming Divinities themselves?

The Book of Parables - While the Idolaters deceived and the Divinities warred, the One Spirit herself did not abandon us. While she will never take a direct hand in guiding the course of the realm herself, it is her will that allows spirits to leave the Darkness and dwell within a mortal realm. For the third time since creation of Tulhara, the word of the One Spirit, the Tolmahden, has again been discovered. In addition to the essential Six Elements to guide a mortal life, it is a book of parables to teach the breeds of Tulhara how to live with one another. If its example cannot be followed this time, what will become of the realm?
